About the Recipe
This is a pretty quick recipe that we eat frequently. My grandmother ("Yiayia" in Greek) loves to cook and taught me this simple chicken dish when I was young.
My mom and I have been cooking it for years. We usually have it in a pita with some green beans on the side. Sometimes, we'll make some brown rice and enjoy it as an entree rather than a sandwich. Either way, I'm sure you'll love it!

Ingredients
4 minced garlic cloves
1 teaspoon dried oregano
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon pepper
2 teaspoons extra virgin olive oil
2 teaspoons lemon juice
1 ½ lb. (24 oz.) chicken
Preparation
Step 1
Mix all of the ingredients (except the chicken) in a bowl.
Step 2
Put the chicken and the mixed ingredients into a zip locked bag or sealed container and mix together for one minute.
Step 3
Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the marinade to soak into the chicken.
Step 4
Grill the chicken to the desired temperature, slice, and serve in warm pita.
Step 5
Optionally, serve with tomatoes, onions, feta cheese, and tzatziki sauce.
