My Story

At age 13, my life changed in ways I never expected. That’s when I was diagnosed with epilepsy. Suddenly, I had to navigate a world of doctor’s appointments, daily medication schedules, and new limitations on activities I once took for granted. The medicines helped manage my seizures, but they also brought side effects—fatigue, brain fog, and sometimes a feeling of being disconnected from my own body.

Over time, I realized that while conventional medicine is essential for controlling my epilepsy, I also needed to listen to my body and find ways to restore my health from within. That’s when I started looking into natural remedies and lifestyle changes to support my well-being.

Drawing inspiration from my Greek heritage, I turned to the wisdom of the Mediterranean—a tradition rich in healing foods and natural remedies. The Greek diet, celebrated for its abundance of fresh vegetables, fruits, healthy fats, and herbs, is not only delicious but also known for supporting brain health. Herbs like sage and rosemary, staples in Greek kitchens, have been used for centuries to promote mental clarity, reduce inflammation, and protect the nervous system. I began incorporating these herbs into my meals and teas, finding comfort in the rituals and flavors of my ancestors.

This journey has helped me reclaim a sense of control over my health. While I continue to work closely with my doctors and take my prescribed medications, I’ve learned that natural remedies and wholesome foods can play a vital role in restoring my body and mind. By blending modern medicine with the wisdom of my heritage, I’m building a life that’s not just about managing epilepsy, but about thriving in spite of it.

If you’re on a similar path—searching for balance between medicine and natural healing—I hope my story offers you encouragement and inspiration. Together, we can explore the power of food, tradition, and self-care in the journey toward wellness.
