About the Recipe
Bifteki is a classic Greek dish that takes the idea of a hamburger and elevates it into something richer and more flavorful. Instead of plain ground beef, bifteki is made with a blend of meat, fresh herbs, onions, and spices. Grilled to perfection, it carries a smoky, savory aroma that pairs beautifully with fresh pita, tzatziki, or a crisp salad. Unlike a typical burger, bifteki feels both hearty and wholesome, delivering the comfort of familiar flavors with the added charm of traditional Greek cooking—making it a more satisfying and memorable choice than your average hamburger.

Ingredients
1 lb ground beef (grass-fed, ideally)
1 yellow onion, grated
2/3 cup ripe tomato, grated
1/2 cup breadcrumbs (organic is best)
1/2 egg (scramble the egg in a bowl and use half)
1 tbsp red wine vinegar
1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1/2 tbsp dried oregano
1 tbsp fresh parsley leaves, chopped
1/2 tbsp fresh oregano leaves, chopped
sea salt (to taste)
pepper (to taste)
Preparation
Step 1
Mix all of the ingredients well so that the bifteki has a soft consistency.
Step 2
Grill to your desired temperature (flipping once). I like to target around 150 degrees.
